Aztec Religion

The Aztec religion was primarily polytheist. They had many gods, male and female. Like most of the Mesoamerican religions, the Aztecs practiced human sacrifice which were performed as tributes to the gods.

In the great cities of the Aztec empire, magnificent temples, palaces, plazas and statues embodied the civilization’s unfailing devotion to the many Aztec gods.
